St. Louis, MO / Jan 5, 2022 – Cornerstone Center for Early Learning announced today that it received a grant for $25,000 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S. The grant will provide protein-rich food, fruits and vegetables to ensure optimal health and brain development for Cornerstone children.
“The past two years have been challenging for everyone, and we are grateful to not only still be serving families, but also, with Bayer Fund’s assistance, providing enhanced nutrition for our children,” said Karen Lucy, Executive Director at Cornerstone Center for Early Learning. “We are excited to continue our partnership with Bayer Fund and thankful for all of the charitable works they do in our community.”
This grant will not only provide support to Cornerstone Center for Early Learning, but also the community they serve by ensuring that the St. Louis area children in their care will be better able to reach their potential through enhanced ability to concentrate, to perform tasks, and to achieve important developmental milestones before they enter kindergarten.
“Throughout the years, the grants given through Bayer Fund have helped strengthen our communities across the United States,” said Al Mitchell, President of Bayer Fund. “We’re proud to be able to provide support to develop programs that help combat challenges such as food insecurity, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and support services to patients and families managing an illness or disease.”
In 2020, Bayer Fund awarded more than $17 million to over 3,400 charitable and nonprofit organizations to help address essential needs in food and nutrition, STEM education and community development. Over the last five years, nonprofit organizations across the U.S. have received more than $80 million.
