About Cornerstone Center for Early Learning

Since 1969, Cornerstone Center for Early Learning has provided quality, comprehensive, and affordable child care and preschool education in a nurturing, creative environment for St. Louis-area families of all economic backgrounds. A licensed and accredited early learning center, Cornerstone serves children ages 6 weeks to kindergarten entry and is located in the Historic Shaw District in South St. Louis City. Cornerstone is located near Highway 44 and Grand Boulevard and is easily accessible by public transportation routes. Early childhood teachers have access to an indoor classroom, a certified outdoor classroom, a community garden, and more. In addition, teachers have access to an administrative building with a work space, a kitchenette and a break room.


HR Coordinator

Cornerstone Center for Early Learning is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator. The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the overall HR functions within the organization. This role involves managing key areas such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, and development, compensation, and benefits. The HR Coordinator works closely with leadership and staff to foster a positive workplace culture and ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies, manage job postings, interview candidates, and make hiring decisions
  • Oversee the process of integrating new employees into the company culture and ensuring they have the necessary resources and training
  • Manage salaries, benefits packages (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.), and ensure compliance with relevant labor laws
  • Address employee concerns, mediate disputes, and ensure a positive work environment
  • Design and implement training programs to improve employee skills and knowledge, and manage performance evaluations
  • Stay up-to-date on labor laws and regulations, and ensure the organization complies with all relevant requirements
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field

Teacher Interventionist

Cornerstone Center for Early Learning is seeking a Teacher Interventionist to join our team of educators. The Teacher Interventionist is primarily responsible for facilitating interactions with children in the classroom. In both individual and group settings, the Teacher Interventionist develops an understanding of the children, identifies any maladaptive behaviors, and attempts to redirect these behaviors by capitalizing on the children’s natural interests and strengths.

Responsibilities

  • Empower Children, Faculty, Administration, and Caregivers
    • Approach all communication from a strengths-based perspective
    • Facilitate interactions with children in and out of the classroom to identify any maladaptive behaviors and attempt to redirect in an encouraging and clear manner
    • Advocate for additional resources for children and their families, as well as teachers
    • Serve as a liaison between administration, faculty, and caregivers to streamline communication and ensure consistency in implemented intervention
    • Conduct meticulous documentation of daily interactions to identify patterns in chidlren’s behavior and increase the effectiveness of intervention

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Education and/or experience in behavioral intervention such as Registered Behavioral Technician, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Early Childhood, Child Psychology, Child Development, or similar area required
  • Experience working with children in a classroom setting is preferred

Educators will plan activities and experiences consistent with developmentally appropriate practice and Creative Curriculum in order to set children up for future success.
