Support Your Community

Ways to Volunteer

About Our Program

Are you looking for ways to volunteer in St. Louis? At Cornerstone Center for Early Learning, our program gives you the chance to support your community in meaningful ways.

Volunteer Opportunities

To find out more about any of these opportunities, or to sign up, please submit our volunteer form below. We look forward to hearing from you!

Adopt a Family for the Holidays
Brighten the season for a family experiencing hardship. Address specific needs and provide gifts that help bring joy to a family that may otherwise be unable to afford a holiday dinner, new toys, or warm clothing.

Birthday Buddies
Do you love to plan parties? Show Cornerstone children how special they are during their birthday month by creating a “birthday in a box” for a classroom celebration.

Bread Runner
Want to help ensure that Cornerstone families are well-fed? As part of Bread Co’s Day-End Dough-Nation program, this volunteer will commit to one night per week (Sun-Thu, the same night each week) arriving at the designated Bread Co location before closing time (typically around 8:50pm) to collect unused, unsold bakery items and bring into Cornerstone the following morning for distribution to Cornerstone families. (Pending re-application and acceptance by the corporate Panera office, Cornerstone will be assigned a cafe location that works best for this volunteer.)

Campus Beautification
Do you enjoy working outdoors? Assist with projects such as building a Little Library, weeding our garden, and pruning our plants to help keep our buildings and green spaces looking fresh!

Classroom Reader
Read aloud to young children, sparking imaginations and building early literacy skills in preparation for kindergarten. This opportunity is available exclusively through our community partner, Ready Readers. To sign up, click here and type “Request to read at Cornerstone Center for Early Learning” in the “How did you learn about Ready Readers?” field.

Cornerstone Closet
Help curate an inventory of donated childcare supplies and household items available at no cost to Cornerstone families in need. Upon arrival, volunteers sign an agreement, then sort and organize donated items on-site at Cornerstone.

Donation Drives
Don’t have time to come to Cornerstone but still want to help? Host a Donation Drive for diapers, classroom supplies, or even a coin drive!

English Tutor
Cornerstone is seeking a volunteer to assist an ELL (English Language Learner) educator through IHELP as the ELL works toward their CDA credential for Missouri Accreditation. The volunteer would commit to meeting twice a week with the ELL for an hour each time. Training and support for the volunteer would be provided.
