A Powerful Commitment

Qualified Charitable Distribution (IRA Charitable Rollover)

Are you over 70.5? Want to reduce your taxable income AND help build a brighter future for St. Louis-area children and their families? Qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) directly from an IRA are one of the most tax-savvy ways to give.

Making a gift from your IRA enables you to avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your or your spouse’s IRA to Cornerstone (annually), to satisfy your required minimum distribution for the year, and to avoid taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions.

(QCDs do not qualify for a charitable deduction but do avoid your taxable income. As always, please consult your personal tax advisor to learn how a QCD can benefit both you and Cornerstone.)

To direct a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA, contact your IRA custodian and direct them to make a gift from your IRA to Cornerstone Center for Early Learning. Request that your name be included with the transfer information so we can thank you for your gift! They can mail it to:

Cornerstone Center for Early Learning
3901 Russell Blvd
St. Louis, MO 63110

Please contact Dani Smith, Development Director, with any questions. You can reach Dani directly at (314) 865-5244 ext. 134 or dsmith@cornerstonecenterstl.org.
