Cornerstone Center for Early Learning Receives $25,000 Grant from Bayer Fund

Donation to help support Cornerstone’s Nutrition Program into 2026

Saint Louis, MO / February 28 – Cornerstone Center for Early Learning announced today it received a grant for $25,000 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S. This grant will be used towards building a better future by providing Cornerstone children with protein-rich food, fruits and vegetables to ensure optimal health and brain development.

“Support from Bayer Fund strengthens Cornerstone’s nutrition program, ensuring our children have access to fresh, healthy meals that fuel their growth and learning. This funding allows us to introduce a variety of nutritious foods, many of which children may be experiencing for the first time, while also fostering a deeper understanding of where food comes from through hands-on experiences like our community garden.” Said Karen Lucy, Executive Director at Cornerstone Center for Early Learning. “With Bayer Fund’s generosity, we can continue nourishing both bodies and minds, setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits.”

In Bayer Fund and Cornerstone’s mutual goal to see the communities we serve flourish, this grant from Bayer Fund will support the organization by allowing them to ensure that St. Louis – area children in Cornerstone’s care will better be able to reach their social, behavioral, and academic potential. Because of enhanced nutrition, students will have improved concentration, consistent task performance, and achievement toward developmental milestones before they enter kindergarten. Cornerstone has been privileged to receive this funding now for the sixth year in a row.

Bayer Fund supports Bayer’s, one of the country’s largest life-sciences companies, mission of Health for all, Hunger for none by working with organizations and non-profits, like Cornerstone, to support health & wellness and food & nutrition.

Bayer Fund is proud to support Cornerstone and their work to make real, sustainable impacts in their community,” said Amy Simpson, Senior Manager Community Engagement at Bayer Fund. “Programs like Cornerstone help combat the critical issue of food insecurity, and we’re honored to play a role with helping even more people in our community have access to healthy, nutritious food.”
