With a theme of “dreams,” the lively community gathering — featuring food trucks, craft cocktails, and open seating — brought together more than 220 guests to help make dreams come true for Cornerstone kids.
St. Louis, MO – October 2025 Cornerstone Center for Early Learning proudly marked its 31st Annual Celebration for Children this September, raising more than $210,000 to help children build the social and emotional foundations they need to thrive. Presented by Ekon Benefits, with Adolph and Carmin Pruitt as Education Sponsors, the event welcomed over 220 guests—including parents, donors, board members, volunteers, teachers, and neighbors—who came together in a powerful show of generosity and community spirit.
Board President Carmin Pruitt welcomed attendees with heartfelt gratitude: “Tonight is a celebration of community, generosity, and the shared belief that every child deserves a strong start. Thank you for believing in our families and investing in their futures.”
Generous contributions also came from Classroom Friend Sponsors including Aero Charter, Amy and Eric Holland, Azar Printing, Beis Plumbing, Carrollton Bank, The Centene Foundation, Chris and Emily Ann Brown, The Daniel and Henry Company, Dr. Steven and Mrs. Elizabeth Nichols, Eric Wood and Wood Financial Partners, Frontenac Roofing and Construction, Joseph Lintzenich, McDonald’s, Mr. Dale Lewis and Dr. Julie Gammack, along with many Family Support Sponsors.
The impact of this support is profound. Over half of Cornerstone families pay $25 or less per week. Nearly 90% of children score on target or above in developmental screenings compared to peers nationwide. Celebration for Children ensures that high quality education is accessible for children facing adversity, and that every child receives the strong foundation they need for lifelong learning and positive social growth.
Cheryl and Keith Kowalczyk of Ekon Benefits reflected: “We are proud to continue our partnership with Cornerstone. Supporting children is a shared responsibility because they are the future.”
Breaking from the traditional gala format, this year’s Celebration featured open seating, live and silent auctions, food trucks, craft cocktails, and an ice cream bar. The festive atmosphere fostered connection and community, with a clear purpose: inspiring supporters to help children turn their dreams for the future into reality through Cornerstone’s work—nurturing confident young minds while supporting all families.
