CORNERSTONE CENTER FOR EARLY LEARNING AWARDED $20,000 GRANT FROM MS. NANCY A. SITEMAN, SITEMAN FAMILY CHARITABLE FUND OF THE ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
ST. LOUIS, MO / February 10 – Cornerstone Center for Early Learning is pleased to announce a $20,000 grant from Ms. Nancy A. Siteman, through the Siteman Family Charitable Fund of the St. Louis Community Foundation. This funding will advance two key areas of Cornerstone’s work: $15,000 will sustain the Siteman Family Charitable Fund Books in Hand Initiative, and $5,000 will enhance Cornerstone’s Early Intervention program.
Through the Books in Hand Initiative, Cornerstone ensures that children from 6 weeks to 5 years old receive a new, high-quality book each month to build their own home libraries. Matching classroom copies strengthen the connection between learning at school and reading at home, reinforcing early literacy skills and encouraging families to read together.
The grant’s Early Intervention support will help Cornerstone continue providing on-site developmental services that identify delays early and respond with individualized care. These services are designed to support children during critical developmental windows while partnering closely with families every step of the way.
“Strong literacy experiences and early intervention are both foundational to a child’s long-term success,” said Ta’Lisha Franklin, Center Director of Cornerstone Center for Early Learning. “This generous investment from the Siteman Family Charitable Fund allows us to deepen our impact by supporting children’s growth in the classroom, at home, and through early, responsive care.”
By investing in both literacy and early intervention, the Siteman Family Charitable Fund is helping Cornerstone create equitable opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive from the very beginning.
