Cornerstone Closet Grand Opening!

SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI – 3/30/21 – Cornerstone Center for Early Learning is celebrating its Grand Opening of Cornerstone Closet. Cornerstone Closet is a free store of new and lightly-used items supported by volunteers of our non-profit organization. It is stocked solely by generous donations from individuals and groups within our community. Our store offers a variety of useful items ranging from clothing and shoes, to household and child care essentials, to toys and books, canned food items and much more. To donate or learn more about Cornerstone Closet, please contact Center Director Ta’Lisha Franklin, at tfranklin@cornerstonecenterstl.org or (314) 865-5244 ex. 118.

Cornerstone Center for Early Learning has provided comprehensive and affordable childcare and preschool education in a nurturing, creative environment for St. Louis-area families of all economic backgrounds since 1969.  We serve 204 children from 170 families residing in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and Illinois. Nearly half of our children are from single-parent households and over half of our families earn a combined annual income below $30,000. These families need and appreciate your assistance. Learn more about who we serve here.

Our Organization through COVID-19

In 2020, we and the world shared a historic moment during the COVID-19 pandemic. But in the midst of such adversity, Cornerstone Center found a moment to renew and rebuild. With the purchase and renovation of our new building, our repainting and decluttering efforts, and the construction of our new gardens, Cornerstone is working to lay the foundations for our next 50 years. In this time, we hope to make changes which put our children in close touch with the natural environment so they may grow into better citizens of the world.

If you would like to volunteer or make a donation to benefit the children at Cornerstone or support Cornerstone Closet, please contact Center Director Ta’Lisha Franklin, at tfranklin@cornerstonecenterstl.org, (314) 865-5244 ex. 118 or www.cornerstonecenterstl.org

“What you have on the corner of Russell and 39th is something incredibly precious and so incredibly needed in our world right now: a place to belong, a place to be safe, a place to grow and be challenged and be loved. Thank you for allowing us to be part of it.”

– Heidi and Kyle Klosterman, Cornerstone parents 2009-2014
